1. Fyllikon: Bronze Award
2. Armonia: Bronze Award

2019

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with the help of the nonprofit organization World Olive Center for Health, awarded the producers that have managed to produce olive oils that satisfy the requirements of the European Reg. 432/2012, thus acquiring Health Claim.

This European Regulation mentions that more than 5 mg of tyrosol and hydroxytyrosol derivatives, consumed daily via olive oils that are in this specific category, can protect from the oxidation of blood lipids. It is also important to mention that the compounds oleocanthal and oleacin that exist in health beneficial olive oils, have been attributed with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, cardio protective and neuroprotective properties. These substances are called polyphenols and these olive oils are called high phenolic olive oils or health beneficiary olive oils.
The producers that were awarded at the Olympia Health and Nutrition awards, managed to produce at least one sample with health claim in the 2018 – 2019 production season, while the olive oil samples were sent from all around the world.

Olivegevity’s organic extra virgin olive oils produced by Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms, were honored for the 4th year in a row as high phenolic olive oils, due to their high concentration of phenolic compounds.

The organic olive oils from Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms contain 7,1 – 7,9 mg of phenolic compounds and just a small quantity of 20 grams of olive oil daily, contains more phenolic substances than the European Regulation 432/2012 suggests.

The awarded olive oils carried by Olivegevity are Fyllikon Early First Harvest and Armonia, all of which belong to the category of organic extra virgin olive oils.

In the award ceremony, important scientists from Greece and abroad were present (Harvard University, University of California, Cambridge University, Northeastern University, etc.) while important announcements about the ongoing studies in olive oil and its health benefits were made. It is a great honor for us to receive this scientific community’s confirmation on the benefits of our organic olive oils to human health.
